A Fort Campbell soldier remains in critical condition and police in California have named the man they believe is responsible for the shooting.
Fox News is reporting that San Bernardino Police identified the suspect as Ruben Ray Jurado as the person responsible for shooting Fort Campbell soldier and Purple Heart recipient 22-year old Christopher Sullivan, who was on leave from the Army when the shooting took place Friday night.
According to police, Sullivan was shot in the neck and buttocks after he tried to break up a fight over football between his brother and Jurado.
Sergeant Gary Robertson told Fox News that police are not sure whether or not Sullivan is going to be a paraplegic or quadriplegic and that the suspect fled the scene and is considered to be armed and dangerous.
The 22-year old soldier reportedly received the Purple Heart and was recovering at Fort Campbell after he sustained injuries during a suicide bomber last year in Afghanistan.
