Historic Christian Co. graveyard vandalized

Someone committed one of the more heinous acts of vandalism imaginable in Christian County recently, destroying several tombstones.

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to the King Moss Cemetery on Boddie Road near Herndon Monday morning, where Randal Worsham of Mark Drive told deputies someone had totally destroyed several tombstones and a fence surrounding the graveyard within the last month.

Worsham said many of the stones were over 200 years old. The cemetery is owned by the Mormon Church.
