The season for political filings has gotten underway and one local office-holder has already filed his papers.

Long-time Christian Circuit Court Clerk Gary Haddock has filed for re-election at the courthouse, according to Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries, who says others wanting to run for office have until January 31^st to do so.

Commonwealth’s Attorney, City Council and several other local offices highlight next year’s ballot.

Those wanting to run for State Representative or State Senate must file with the Secretary of State’s office in Frankfort and also have a January 31^st deadline.
