A Clarksville man was arrested early this morning on child abuse charges after allegedly leaving his children home alone.

The report from Clarksville Police says 32-year old Jean Alfred of Cindy Jo Court was in an argument with his wife—24-year old Tamara Alfred and Ms. Alfred decided to go to Wal-Mart just before 1:00.

Jean Alfred was left alone with his two small children who were in bed and allegedly left the home to follow his wife. Ms. Alfred told police her 7-month old was screaming and crying when she rushed to get back home.

Police believe the children were left alone for about an hour. Jean Alfred was charged with child abuse.
