Martavious Briggs

Clarksville police have made an arrest in a shooting incident from last night.

That incident happened outside at the night deposit bar at 404 North 2^nd street around 9pm, according to a news release, which quotes a witness as saying he heard men arguing and then heard shots fired. The 31-year old male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the leg, but was able to make his way inside the building to call 911.

He was taken by ambulance to Gateway Medial Center and then to a Nashville hospital. He is listed in stable condition.

Police say the victim identified 21-year old Martavious Demond Briggs of Nadia Drive, Clarksville as the man who shot him and Briggs turned himself in at the police department just after 5 this morning.

The argument reportedly stemmed from an argument over 20 dollars and Briggs is charged with attempted homicide and is in the Montgomery County Jail on 250 thousand dollars bond.
