Flood Watch issued through Monday Night

The calendar may say it’s December, but a spring-like weather pattern is setting up in the Southern Pennyrile.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for all of western Kentucky and Montgomery and Stewart Counties in Tennessee as 3 to 5 inches of rainfall is expected through Monday night.

Small creeks and streams may come out of their banks and flooding of low land and poor drainage areas is likely as well, which will likely result in water across some roads.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. Stay tuned to the WHOP family of stations for the latest on this weather situation.
