A passing motorist on Riverside Drive in Clarksville spotted a vehicle overturned on the riverbank Sunday, with the situation still shrouded in mystery.

A news release from Clarksville Police says the dispatch center received a 911 call around 11am stating there was a vehicle on its top on the bank of theCumberland River. When officers arrived, they found a 1999 Dodge Durango upside down with no one inside.

Police were able to identify the owner of the vehicle as Ryan Truett of Milan, Tennessee, who told them he thought it had been repossessed and he hadn’t seen it since Friday.

It had not been reported stolen and Clarksville Police are still not sure how it ended up where it did. It took three hours for crews to turn the vehicle back upright to remove it from the scene.
