 Leyenaar
The former Hopkinsville Police officer arrested nearly two weeks ago on DUI charges is back in jail. 35-year old Timothy Leyenaar has been served with a warrant for wanton endangerment for allegedly having his two children in the vehicle with him November 15th when a Christian County Sheriff’s deputy pulled him over on the Eagle Way Bypass for allegedly driving impaired. Leyenaar was also charged with reckless driving and reportedly blew over twice the legal limit on the breath test. The initial arrest card didn’t include that Leyenaar had his two children in the vehicle, but those details came out later in the week. Leyenaar has been in the Christian County Jail since Thanksgiving Day on $10,000 bond, according to the jail website. Leyenaar resigned his badge last week, allowing HPD to avoid an internal investigation. He will appear in court later this week. ** 11/28/2011/AM
