CLARKSVILLE MAN CRASHES VEHICLE INTO CHURCH

A Clarksville man was booked into the Montgomery County Jail for allegedly driving drunk and crashing his vehicle into a church.

According to Clarksville Police, around 1:15 am this morning, officers responded to a call about a van being inside of a church and when officers arrived on scene, they found a Ford Astro van inside one of the walls of Galilean Church, located at 130 South 10th Street.

Police say the driver of the vehicle, 28-year old Herbert Earl Minor was still inside of the vehicle when officers arrived and was obviously intoxicated and had to be physically removed from his damaged vehicle.

According to police, Minor had drove his vehicle off the roadway near 9th and Franklin Street, drove over three curbs and then crashed his vehicle into the church.

Due to his level of intoxication, police transported Minor to Gateway Medical Center and upon his release, police say warrants for his arrest will be served on him for driving under the influence, second offense and implied consent.
