A single vehicle wreck on Calvin Drive late this morning caused a significant natural gas leak and downed power lines.

The incident happened around 10:45 in between Jones Brothers towing and the Pennyrile Parkway underpass, with Hopkinsville Police Officer Paul Ray saying an SUV ran off the roadway and ran into a warehouse building.

The vehicle also collided with a power pole and an Atmos Natural Gas line. Officer Ray said the leak was significant and could be heard from a distance. Atmos came to the scene to shut the leak and that there are significant power outages in the area—including portions of Skyline Drive.

The driver of the vehicle was taken by ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.
