Christian County High School will have a new softball coach for the 2014 season. Johnny Blane, who has been an assistant in the program since 2009, replaces Greg Glass. Blane has also served as head coach of the baseball and softball programs at Christian County Middle School.
Blane is a 1973 graduate of Christian County. In a news release, Blane said he is excited about the young Lady Colonel team and what the future holds. Blane added he looks forward to guiding them in the tradition of the Lady Colonel softball program.
Coach Steve Prohm says surgery will take place in a couple of weeks and the school will ask for a medical redshirt year for the sophomore.

NFL: The Philadelphia Eagles may not have quarterback Michael Vick for Sunday’s game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vick left Sunday’s game with the NY Giants due to a hamstring injury. If Vick can’t play, second year man Nick Foles will get the start.
