College Baseball: Austin Peay won a pair of games at the Ohio Valley Conference baseball tournament Saturday, defeating Southeast Missouri 10-6 and Eastern Illinois 7-0. The top seeded Governors meet Eastern Illinois in the championship today in Jackson, TN.
Kentucky was eliminated from the Southeastern Conference tournament with a 2-1 loss to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs meet Vanderbilt in the championship game this afternoon. The Commodores elimininated Florida in Saturday's second semi final .
Western Kentucky concluded its season with a 7-4 win over Louisiana Monroe in its final pool play game in the Sun Belt Conference tournament at Bowling Green Ballpark. The Hilltoppers finish the season 25-33. The Sun Belt championship game will be played this afternoon with Louisiana Monroe taking on Arkansas State.
College Softball: Tennessee defeated Georgia 3-1 in Super Regional play Saturday in Athens. A win for the Lady Vols today sends them to the College World Series in Oklahoma City.
Minor League Baseball: The Nashville Sounds won their fourth straight game 7-3 over the Round Rock Express. Game three of the four game series is this afternoon at 2:05 at Greer Stadium.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods beat Fort Wayne in the first of a four game series 11-2, with game two of the series set for tonight.
Golf: Hopkinsville's Dayton Jones fired an 83 in the first round of the Golfweek Junior Tour Midwest Region Tour Championship Saturday at University Club in Lexington. Jones is 13 shots off the lead in the boys 16-19 division heading into today's second round of the three day event which concludes Monday.
Franklin's Kenny Perry fired a 69 and stands tied for 29th at 214 heading into the final round of the 73rd Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Paducah's Russ Cochran shot a 71 today and is tied for 52nd with a 218 total. Roger Chapman at 14 under par takes a five shot lead into today's final round over John Cook.

Baseball will be played at Henderson County High School, with first round games Monday including host Henderson County meeting Christian County at 10 am Monday, with a rematch of last year's regional final taking place at 4 pm with Hopkinsville meeting Union County. Both baseball games will be heard on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com beginning with the Heritage Bank pre game show at 9:45 for the County game, and approximately 3:45 for the Hopkinsville game.
Softball will be played at Webster County High School, with University Heights meeting defending regional champ Hopkins Central at 1 pm Monday, with Christian County meeting Union County at 5 pm.

College Football: The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the University of Tennessee has dismissed tight end Cameron Clear from the football team. Clear was arrested earlier this week on theft charges. Clear played in 12 games, starting twice for the Vols last season. He caught just one pass on the season.
Minor League Baseball: The Nashville Sounds defeated Round Rock 7-6, with game two of the series this evening at Greer Stadium. The Bowling Green Hot Rods lost the finale of their series at Great Lakes 9-8. The Hot Rods open a series tonight at Fort Wayne.

WPSD-TV reports Murray State University nearly has its 2012-13 basketball schedule completed, with 27 of 29 games scheduled. Coach Steve Prohm says the Racers are still looking for two opponents, with the stipulation on the home and home series being the first game is to be played in Murray this coming season.
Three schools are being mentioned to fill the two slots. They are Virginia Commonwealth, North Texas and Illinois State.
Kentucky Sports Radio.com reports Kentucky will not meet Georgetown in this coming’s season’s SEC/Big East basketball challenge. ESPN’s Andy Katz had speculated the two teams would play. However, rumors are circulating Kentucky could play Notre Dame in the event.
St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman is to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee today. Berkman injured his knee fielding a throw in a game last weekend at Los Angeles and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.
Major League Baseball tonight has St. Louis hosting Philadelphia in game two of a weekend series, Cincinnati opens a weekend home series with Colorado, Atlanta hosts Washington and the Chicago Cubs are in Pittsburgh.
In the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, New York is at New Jersey for game six of the Eastern Conference final. The Devils lead the series 3-2.

Western Kentucky lost for the second straight night at the Sun Belt Conference tournament in Bowling Green 5-3 to South Alabama. The Hilltoppers play their final pool play game Saturday night against Louisiana Monroe.

Horse Racing: Doug O’ Neill—the trainer of Triple Crown hopeful I’ll Have Another—has received a 45 day suspension from the California Horse Racing Board for one of his horses in 2010 having an excessive level of carbon dioxide.
However, the punishment will not start before he saddles the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner in the June 9th Belmont Stakes. I’ll Have Another is attempting to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and the first in 34 years
PGA Tour: Kentuckian Steve Flesch turned in a three over par 73 at the first round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas Thursday. Zach Johnson fired a bogey free six under par 64 and has a one shot lead over Byron Nelson Invitational winner Jason Dufner and three others heading into today’s second round.
