Hoppers Baseball: The first place Hoptown Hoppers return to Ohio Valley League action tonight at Dubois County. The Bombers along with Fulton and Owensboro are tied for second place. Fulton and Owensboro play a doubleheader this evening, with Madisonville playing against Marion.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds continue their series with San Francisco this evening at Great American Ballpark, with pre game coverage beginning at 5:40 on News/Talk WHOP. Other National League action has Atlanta meeting Miami. Interleague action has the Chicago Cubs at Oakland and St. Louis at the Los Angeles Angels.
College Basketball: The NCAA has given Baylor women's basketball coach Kim Mulkey a one-game suspension for criticizing the officiating following her team's loss to Louisville in the national championship tournament earlier this year.
After Louisville knocked off top-seeded Baylor, Mulkey said the game was too physical and that more tournament work by the three officials would be "be sad for the game." Mulkey will have to sit out a game during her next NCAA tournament appearance.
The NCAA said it was issuing a more severe penalty because Mulkey was reprimanded in 2011 for criticizing the NCAA tournament bracket.
Wimbledon: Giant-killer Sabine Lisicki reached her second Wimbledon semifinal in three years with a quarterfinal victory Tuesday at the All England Club. Less than 24 hours after stunning world No. 1, defending champion and five time overall titlist Serena Williams, the 23rd-seeded Lisicki stayed hot by tackling Kaia Kanepi 6-3, 6-3 in 64 minutes.
