The Nashville Sounds got an unearned run in the bottom of the 9th inning to defeat Round Rock 3-2 Monday night. Game two of the series is this evening at Greer Stadium.
High School Sports: The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has released participation numbers for all sports in the 2012-13 academic year. Football is the most popular boys sport with 13, 315 participants including 54 girls playing for 222 schools.
Baseball is the second most popular sport with 7,278 participants competing for 261 schools. Basketball is third with 6,874 participants.
On the girls side, volleyball is the most popular sport with 6,260 participants competing for 257 schools, followed by fast pitch softball with 5,754 participants, and soccer with 5,551 participants. Basketball had 5,359 participants.
