College Basketball: Murray State coach Steve Prohm told ESPN during an NBA pre draft combine he has found Isaiah Cannan’s replacement at point guard. It’s Zay Jackson, who was suspended last season after serving 49 days in jail after hitting a man in his vehicle in a parking lot last September.
Prohm says the school’s athletic department made the decision to allow Jackson to return. Jackson has a 2.75 grade point average and has not been an issue since returning to the team.
College Baseball: The Southeastern Conference tournament begins tomorrow in Hoover, AL. Kentucky will be in one of the play in games, meeting Ole Miss at 9:30 tomorrow morning. If Kentucky wins, they will face Arkansas at 9:30 am Wednesday.
Western Kentucky is the fifth seed for the upcoming Sun Belt Conference tournament at Tigue Moore Field in Lafayette, LA. The Hilltoppers will face fourth seed Florida Atlantic in its first game at 9 am Wednesday. The tournament will play with a double elimination format. The Hilltoppers would play again Thursday at 9 am in an elimination game or at 4 pm in a winner’s game.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds open a three game series this evening in the Big Apple against the NY Mets. Other National League action includes St. Louis at San Diego, with Atlanta meeting Minnesota in interleague play.
NBA/NHL: All is quiet this evening in the NBA playoffs, however in the NHL playoffs, Chicago and Detroit play game three of their Western Conference semi final series in Detroit. The series is tied 1-1.
