High School Basketball-Monday’s scores
2nd region at Hopkinsville: The host Hopkinsville Tigers built up a 19-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back in defeating Webster County 74-41. Jordan Majors led the Tigers scoring attack with 27 points, while Jaqualis Matlock had a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Hayes had 23 points to lead Webster County who finishes the season 19-14. Hopkinsville moves to the semi finals Friday night with a record of 29-4.
The Tigers will next face Madisonville, who defeated Lyon County 51-36. The Maroons were led in scoring by Ross Thomas who had 14 points and 15 rebounds. Lyon County was led by Jericho Wilkerson who had 14 points and 12 rebounds as the Lyons finish the season 15-17, while Madisonville improves to 18-12.

4th region at WKU: Russellville got by Allen County Scottsville 66-60 and Russell County defeated Greenwood 79-63.

1st region at Murray State: Calloway County over Paducah Tilghman 62-44 and St. Mary over Carlisle County 69-62.
Tonight’s games have Graves County meeting Marshall County and Lone Oak goes against Fulton City.
3rd region at Owensboro Sportscenter: Owensboro Catholic over Butler County 69-55 and Breckinridge County edged Muhlenberg County 77-74 in double overtime.
Tonight’s games have Owensboro playing Meade County and Ohio County goes against Grayson County.
College Basketball: Women’s Ohio Valley Conference action saw Murray State defeat Morehead State 56-48. The win secured Murray State a berth in the OVC tournament coming up in Nashville early next month.
Tonight’s game: SEC action has Tennessee taking on 8th ranked Florida.
College Football: The Courier Journal reports that University of Louisville assistant coach Clint Hurtt is charged with rules violations while an assistant at the University of Miami which include impermissible texts to lying to NCAA investigators.
The newspaper obtained the facts through an open records request. Hurtt was served with a Notice of Allegations by the NCAA last week. Potential discipline in this case could affect Hurtt’s future at Louisville.
The Tennessean reports the University of Tennessee is losing an assistant coach. Coach Butch Jones announced Monday that Jay Graham, the only holdover from former coach Derek Dooley’s staff, is leaving to accept a position at another institution. Graham was UT’s running backs coach last season.
NHL: Roman Josi scored his second goal of the evening 28 seconds into overtime as the Nashville Predators edged the Dallas Stars 5-4 at Bridgestone Arena. The Predators begin another west coast swing with a game at San Jose Wednesday night at 9 pm.
