High School Volleyball: Hopkinsville defeated Todd Central three sets to none, University Heights over Union County 3-2, Henderson County over Evansville Bosse 3-0.

College Football: Kentucky coach Joker Phillips tells the Courier Journal he’s not decided who will be Kentucky’s starting quarterback and that the order has not changed.
Sophomore Maxwell Smith and senior Morgan Newton are ahead of freshmen Patrick Towles and Jalen Whitlow. Phillips said after watching tape of the first scrimmage he would like a little more time to see if a greater separation develops at the top.
Murray State has received two transfers from FCS schools. Former Ohio State running back Jammal Berry will be allowed to practice, but has yet to be cleared for participation in games. Berry played three seasons for the Buckeyes.
Also joining the Racer program is former South Carolina cornerback Cadarious Sanders who was redshirted in 2010 and spent the last two years as a reserve.
Austin Peay had its first scrimmage of fall camp Monday. Running back Wesley Kitts set the tone for the day with 132 yards and a touchdown, a 63 yard run on the second play from scrimmage. Quarterback Jake Ryan was 11-17 passing for 150 yards in the contest.
Coach Rick Christophel told the Leaf Chronicle following the scrimmage he felt the offense was not consistent enough and defensively the Governors have to learn to stop the run.
NFL: Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak announced following practice Monday that Jake Locker would start against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Friday night. Locker and Matt Hasselbeck will both see more time than they did in last Saturday’s pre season opener against Seattle.
