The Courier Journal reports a federal appeals court has upheld the conviction of Karen Sypher, who was found guilty of trying to extort Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino. The US 6th Circuit Court of Appeals found that Sypher’s attorneys advanced no arguments of merit on appeal. Sypher is serving a seven year prison term in Florida.
