Horse Racing: Doug O’ Neill—the trainer of Triple Crown hopeful I’ll Have Another—has received a 45 day suspension from the California Horse Racing Board for one of his horses in 2010 having an excessive level of carbon dioxide.
However, the punishment will not start before he saddles the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner in the June 9th Belmont Stakes. I’ll Have Another is attempting to become the 12th Triple Crown winner and the first in 34 years
PGA Tour: Kentuckian Steve Flesch turned in a three over par 73 at the first round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas Thursday. Zach Johnson fired a bogey free six under par 64 and has a one shot lead over Byron Nelson Invitational winner Jason Dufner and three others heading into today’s second round.
Franklin’s Kenny Perry had a four over 75 and Paducah’s Russ Cochran fired a two over 73 at the first round of the Senior PGA Championship in Benton Harbor, MI. Roger Chapman is the leader at three under 68. John Cook is one shot back, with five golfers two shots off the lead.
