Christian County is ranked 6th in the latest Kentucky Softball Coaches Association Top 25. The poll has defending state champ Allen County-Scottsville first, Greenwood 7th, Owensboro Catholic 8th, Reidland 11th, Bowling Green 14th, Heath 19th, Hopkins Central 22nd, Muhlenberg County 23rd and Livingston Central 24th.
Bowling Green is ranked 4th in the latest Kentucky High School Baseball Coaches Association poll, which has Louisville Male first. Glasgow is tied for 25th this week.
Major League Baseball action tonight includes the St. Louis Cardinals in Chicago to meet the Cubs, while the Atlanta Braves continue their west coast swing at the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Tennessee Titans have announced quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and left tackle Michael Roos will be in Hopkinsville as part of the Titans Caravan stop next Monday, April 30th at 5:45 at O’Charley’s on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Hasselbeck and Roos will be joined by the Voice of the Titans Mike Keith and mascot T-Rac.
Brian Dawkins has decided to call it a career after 16 seasons as a safety in the NFL. Dawkins, who spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles and played his last three seasons with the Denver Broncos, made the announcement on Twitter.
Dawkins was a nine-time Pro Bowl selection and played in one Super Bowl with Philadelphia after the 2004 season. The 38-year-old appeared in 14 games for the Broncos last season, but was bothered by a neck injury that forced him to miss Denver's two playoff games.
