High School Softball: Todd Central over Russellville 15-1, Hopkins Central was shutout by Fairhope, AL 3-0.

College Basketball: The Kentucky Wildcats landed one of the top high school seniors in the nation Wednesday, when Nerulens Noel announced he will play next year for the Wildcats. The 6-10 center chose UK over Syracuse and Georgetown.
Shabazz Muhammad, who was also on UK’s radar, chose UCLA as where he will play collegiately. Duke was also in the running for his services.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the University of Tennessee signed 6-5 combo guard Armani Moore Wednesday. Moore, from Kennesaw, Georgia averaged 22 points, 9.3 rebounds and almost four blocks a game last season for Paran Christian School.
College Baseball: Austin Peay defeated Middle Tennessee 10-3, Murray State defeated Evansville 3-1.
NHL: The Nashville Predators took game 1 of their Western Conference series with Detroit 3-2 Wednesday night at Bridgestone Arena. The teams play again Friday night in Nashville, with coverage at 6:30 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
Minor League Baseball: The Nashville Sounds edged Oklahoma City 3-2 in 10 innings, with the teams playing again this evening in Oklahoma City.
The Bowling Green Hot Rods defeated West Michigan 9-4 and will open a series this evening at Lake County.
PGA Tour: Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker begins defense of his title today at the RBC Heritage at Harbor Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island South Carolina.
