Hopkinsville High golfer Dayton Jones finished tied for 10th at this week’s Golfweek Junior Tour stop at Champions Trace in Lexington. Jones had a two day total of 160, 11 shots behind winner Ashton Van Horne of Georgetown. The tour moves to Covered Bridge in Sellersburg, Indiana this weekend.
Christian County High golfer Jonathan Grabara will sign today to play his collegiate golf for Lindsey Wilson College. The ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 at Christian County High School.
The Ohio Valley Summer Baseball League has released its schedule for the season, with the Hoptown Hoppers opening on the road June 1st at Fulton, with the first of 20 home dates scheduled for Colonel Field at Christian County High School scheduled for June 6th also against Fulton. Home games are scheduled for 7:05 pm.
Season passes are now available by contacting the Christian County Chamber of Commerce at 885-9096, where you can also get more information on providing housing for players who are coming to town for the months of June and July.
Kentucky and Louisville are the only two in state teams remaining in this year’s NCAA Tournament. The top ranked and top seed in the South Region Kentucky gets a rematch with Indiana—one of its only two losses of the season—Friday night in Atlanta. Tip off time is scheduled for 8:45, with pre game coverage at 7 on Lite 98.7.

Louisville moves from Portland to Phoenix to continue West Regional play Thursday night against Michigan State, with tipoff for that game at 6:47 Hopkinsville time.
Women’s Tournament: Tennessee and Kentucky both continue play this evening, with the Lady Vols meeting DePaul in Chicago and Kentucky goes against Green Bay at Iowa State, with coverage of the UK game at 8:30 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
Sunday score: Vanderbilt defeated Middle Tennessee 60-46 and will meet Duke Tuesday in Memorial Gym in Nashville.

The Nashville Predators rallied in the third period thanks to goals from David Legwand, Mike Fisher and Patric Hornqvist in completing a season series sweep of Anaheim in taking a 3-1 win Sunday night. The Predators return to action Tuesday night against the Edmonton Oilers in Bridgestone Arena, with coverage at 7 on Newstalk 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
Franklin’s Kenny Perry and Nashville’s Brandt Snedeker finished tied for 29th at the Transitions Championship with six under par scores. Luke Donald birdied the first playoff hole to defeat Jim Furyk, Robert Garrigus and Sang Moon Bae. The win also returned Donald to the top of the World Golf Rankings.
Paducah’s Russ Cochran finished tied for 29th at two over par at the Champions Tour’s Toshiba Classic. Loren Roberts won the event at eight under, two shots better than Tom Kite, Bernhard Langer and Mark Calcavecchia.
