Southwestern used a 22-2 scoring spurt from late in the 2nd quarter to early in the 3rd period in downing Hopkinsville 52-41 at the Boys Sweet 16 in Lexington. Southwestern was led in scoring by Justin Epperson with 18 points off the bench. He was one of three Warriors in double figures. Hopkinsville was led by Jordan Majors with 18, followed by Demarius Henry with 10.
The Tigers finish the season 32-3, while Southwestern improves to 28-8 and will face Rowan County in the first quarterfinal game Friday at 11 am Hopkinsville time. Rowan County defeated North Laurel 64-46 earlier today.
