High School Football: John Hardin defensive lineman Matt Elam made an appearance on Kentucky Sports Radio this morning. Elam was complimentary of both Kentucky and Alabama, the front runners for his services to play collegiately next year.
Elam says right now he feels more comfortable with the Kentucky program and has not decided if he will make his official visit to Alabama before announcing his college decision January 4th.
College Basketball: Two top 25 teams are in action today with 13th ranked Iowa State meeting Akron and top ranked Arizona hosting Northern Arizona.
Tennessee is also in action this evening as the Volunteers host Morehead State.

College Football: ESPN Los Angeles reports new Southern California coach Steve Sarkisian will reach out to former interim coach Ed Orgeron and ask him to stay with the program. Orgeron served as interim coach following Lane Kiffin’s firing earlier this season.
Orgeron resigned when Sarkisian was named head coach December 2nd, with Clay Helton guiding the Trojans program during Saturday’s win in the Las Vegas Bowl. Helton will stay with the Trojans next season.
ESPN reports Texas A&M has suspended standout freshman linebacker Darian Claiborne after his Sunday arrest on drug related charges. Claiborne will miss the Chik Fil A Bowl against Duke December 31st.
NFL: The final regular season game to be played in Candlestick Park takes place this evening as San Francisco hosts Atlanta. It’s the 36th time Monday Night Football has taken place at “The Stick”, which is an NFL record.
