Christian County faced one of the top ranked teams in Tennessee as Knoxville Fulton was at the Stadium of Champions last night. Fulton running back Darryl Rollins-Davis rushed 28 times for 302 yards and five touchdowns as the Falcons defeated Christian County 61-28. The 28 points is significant as it’s the most points Fulton High has given up in a game this season.
Christian County’s Jamarius Taylor rushed for 153 yards on 25 carries for 3 touchdowns and also returned an interception 18 yards for a score for the Colonels who go to 4-5 on the season, while Fulton is 9-0.
Hopkinsville played its final district game of the season at Graves County. The Tigers fell to the Eagles 55-21. Hopkinsville will be the three seed for the playoffs from Region 1 District 2 in a couple of weeks, while Graves County will be the top seed in finishing district play at 4-0. Christian County will finish second in the district race. Hopkinsville is now 4-5 on the season.
Other scores: Fort Campbell nipped Trigg County 40-37, Union County over Todd Central 64-39, Warren Central over Logan County 70-14, Mayfield over Russellville 42-21, Caldwell County routed Crittenden County 50-3, Murray edged Madisonville 34-31, Owensboro over Hopkins Central 43-8.
McCracken County over Henderson County 42-28, Apollo edged Ohio County 28-22, Bowling Green over Greenwood 42-0, Franklin Simpson over Allen County Scottsville 35-7, Warren East defeated Breckinridge County 63-7, Daviess County got by Marshall County 51-44, Central Hardin shut out Muhlenberg County 47-0.

MLB: The Boston Red Sox say David Ortiz will start at first base when game three of the World Series takes place at Busch Stadium in St. Louis this evening. Ortiz is 4 for 6 in the first two games of the Fall Classic, with two home runs and 5 RBI. The Red Sox send Jake Peavy to the mound this evening against Joe Kelly for the Cardinals. The series is tied one game each.
Multiple reports indicate the Washington Nationals will hire former major leaguer Matt Williams to be the new field manager. Williams will replace Davey Johnson. Williams has been a coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks for the last four years. Johnson had announced before the 2013 season this would be his last season to manage the Nationals.
