Boys 2nd region Soccer semifinals: Madisonville nipped Christian County 2-1 and Henderson County shut out University Heights 5-0.
Girls 2nd region Soccer semifinals: Hopkinsville defeated Trigg County 12-0 and Madisonville defeated Henderson County 2-1 on penalty kicks.
Boys 1st region Soccer final: Graves County defeated Marshall County 2-1 on penalty kicks.

13th district Volleyball tournament at Franklin Simpson: Todd Central meets Logan County at 5 pm, with Russellville meeting Franklin Simpson at 6:30, with the championship game at 8 pm.
College Football: Following a bye week, Kentucky returns to action tonight at Mississippi State. Kentucky comes in after losing to top ranked Alabama nearly two weeks ago 48-7, while Mississippi State is coming off a 21-20 win over Bowling Green State.
Both teams are looking for their first Southeastern Conference win and for Kentucky not only are the Cats trying to snap a four game losing streak, they haven’t beaten Mississippi State since 2008. Pre game coverage begins at 5 on Lite 98.7.
Western Kentucky running back Antonio Andrews is leading the NCAA in all purpose yards. The former Fort Campbell standout has 1,610 yards heading into Saturday’s homecoming matchup with Troy University. Andrews has 1.036 yards rushing, 207 receiving yards and 367 yards returning punts and kicks. You can hear Saturday’s game with Troy beginning at 2 pm on News/Talk WHOP.
Murray State wide receiver Walter Powell was arrested earlier this week. Reports indicate Powell was charged with theft by unlawful taking under $500 and assault charges. He was arrested late Sunday night and released on bail early Monday morning. No report has been made available concerning the incident.
However, Murray State athletics released a statement Wednesday saying they are investigating the matter. The statement went on to say based on the current information there was no need currently for a suspension or punishment. But if new information came to light, the situation would be reexamined.
Powell-a St. Louis senior-is the Racers leading receiver with 54 receptions for 702 yards and 13 touchdowns.
College Basketball: Reports surfaced Wednesday Kentucky and Texas El Paso may play each other in 2016. It will be 50 years since then Texas Western defeated Kentucky in the NCAA national championship at Cole Field House on the University of Maryland campus. Plans are if the game is worked out to play it at Cole Field House.
NHL: The Nashville Predators are back in action this evening, hosting the Winnipeg Jets, with coverage beginning at 7 on News/Talk WHOP.
