MLB: The St. Louis Cardinals and Los Angeles Dodgers play game 6 of the National League Championship Series at Busch Stadium this evening. The Cardinals are a win away from reaching the World Series and send rookie Michael Wacha to the mound to face Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw. Wacha won game 2 1-0 over Kershaw.
The Cincinnati Enquirer reported Thursday the Cincinnati Reds may be interested in dealing second baseman Brandon Phillips. A story indicated some Reds front office types are not happy with Phillips behavior.
Meanwhile, Yahoo! Sports indicated there may be some truth to the trade possibility, as Baltimore has reported expressed an interest. If a trade occurs, the Reds would like use the money to sign free agent Shin Shoo Choo and move Billy Hamilton to 2nd base.
NFL: The Tennessee Titans are making preparations to face the San Francisco 49ers Sunday afternoon at LP Field. Injured quarterback Jake Locker worked out again on Thursday and said he’s preparing to start on Sunday. The Titans are not saying Locker will or will not play.
Coach Mike Munchak said following Thursday’s workout the team is going to wait and see how Locker feels after a second straight workout today before deciding whether he will play. Locker has missed the last three games after suffering a hip and knee injury against the NY Jets.
