MLB: Game 1 of the National League Championship Series is tonight in St. Louis as the Cardinals host the Los Angeles Dodgers. Joe Kelly gets the start for the Redbirds, while the Dodgers counter with Zack Greinke. The Cardinals are in the NLCS for the third straight year, while the Dodgers are back for the first time since losing to Philadelphia in 2009.
The American League Championship Series begins tomorrow at Boston’s Fenway Park as the Red Sox meet the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers won the regular season series between the two teams 4 games to 3.
College Football: When Kentucky faces top ranked Alabama tomorrow, there will be one interested observer in the stands. College Basketball: In speaking to the Lexington Rotary Club Thursday, Kentucky coach John Calipari said he was told by two NBA observers they were impressed with the cohesion and enthusiasm on display in fall workouts.
Calipari also touted this Kentucky team’s prowess in the so called dribble drive offense according to the Lexington Herald Leader. Calipari noted this was the best time in handling the dribble drive since his next to last team at Memphis during the 2007-08 season which featured Derrick Rose.
