College Football: Tennessee defensive back Brian Randolph has been named the SEC defensive player of the week. Randolph has two interceptions and eight tackles in the Volunteers win over Western Kentucky Saturday.
Georgia’s Aaron Murray was named the offensive player of the week, with Kentucky guard Kevin Mitchell named the offensive lineman of the week. Mitchell graded at 90 percent and helped Kentucky amass 675 yards, the third highest mark in school history in Saturday’s win over Miami-Ohio.
Louisville safety Calvin Pryor has been named the American Athletic Conference defensive player of the week. Pryor had eight tackles, forced a fumble and had an interception in the 7th ranked Cardinals victory over Eastern Kentucky Saturday.
NFL: Week 1 concludes this evening with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. The opening game has the Washington Redskins meeting the Philadelphia Eagles, with the San Diego Chargers hosting the Houston Texans in the late game.
