College Football: Louisville is ranked 8th in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll. Alabama is first this week, followed by Oregon, Ohio State, Clemson and Stanford. The rest of the top 10 has South Carolina 6th, then Texas A&M, LSU is 9th and Florida State.
The USA Today Coaches Top 25 poll also has Louisville ranked 8th. Alabama is number one, followed by Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and Clemson. Rounding out the top 10 are South Carolina at number 6, then Texas A&M, Florida and Florida State.
The Sports Network’s weekly top 20 poll has Louisville ranked 8th this week. Alabama is number one. Following the Crimson Tide in the top 5 are Ohio State, Oregon, Stanford and South Carolina. Clemson is 6th followed by Texas A&M, Georgia and Florida in the top 10.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds begin the day 3 ½ games behind NL Central leader Pittsburgh as the Reds host St. Louis in game two of their series at Great American Ballpark. Air time is at 5:40 this evening on News/Talk WHOP.

NFL: The 2013 regular season begins Thursday night as the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens open the season at the Denver Broncos. The Tennessee Titans open the regular season Sunday on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
NBA: Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger is in jail awaiting a hearing later today. He turned himself in to police this morning after being involved in a domestic incident over the weekend. A Boston television station reports Sullinger is charged with assault and battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation.
The Ohio State product averaged six points and just under six rebounds a game as a rookie last season and is expected to be a major contributor this year.
