High School Football: Bluegrass Preps.com has released its weekly polls.
Class 5-A: Bowling Green is first again this week, Graves County is 6th, Warren Central 7th and Christian County is 9th.
Class 3-A: Louisville Central remains number one, Paducah Tilghman is 4th, South Warren 7th and Fort Campbell 8th.
Class 2-A: Caldwell County is first, Owensboro Catholic 4th, Murray High is 8th.
Class A: Mayfield remains at the top, with Russellville ranked 3rd.
Class 4-A: Highlands is first with Madisonville 7th and Owensboro 8th.
Class 6-A: Trinity is number one, with only two in state schools Scott County and Simon Kenton ranked in the top 10.
College Football: Kentucky landed a major recruit for the 2014 class today. Four star wide receiver Blake Bone from Woodruff, SC is the fourth commitment for Kentucky at that spot. Bone chose Kentucky over Louisville, South Carolina and Ole Miss.
The Courier Journal reports Louisville football player Lorenzo Mauldin was involved in a moped accident today. A U of L spokesman says Mauldin is “alert and responsive” following the hit and run accident which occurred around 8:45 this morning while travelling north on Floyd Street near the Yum Center basketball practice facility on campus.
Mauldin is being treated at Jewish Hospital. The junior from Atlanta is listed as a starting defensive end for Sunday’s game against Ohio University.
MLB: The Cincinnati Reds continue their series in St. Louis this evening, with pre game from Busch Stadium at 6:45 on News/Talk WHOP.
The Reds trail the NL Central leading Cardinals by 3 ½ games, with Pittsburgh a ½ game behind the Cardinals. Other action tonight includes Atlanta and Cleveland in interleague play, while the Chicago Cubs continue their series with the LA Dodgers.
