Talley defeated Cindy Feng in a 36 hole match Sunday 2 and 1 to take the title. Talley led the match 1 up following the morning 18 Sunday then led by as much as 3 up in the afternoon match before Feng made a charge evening the match on the 25th hole before Talley rolled in a birdie on the 28th hole to give her the lead she would never lose again. Talley finished the match with a par on the 35th hole.
Both Talley and Feng earned spots in next year’s US Women’s Open to be contested in
Jason Dufner won his first major Sunday in taking the PGA Championship at Oak Hill. Dufner had a final round 68 to finish at 10 under 270 and defeat third round leader Jim Furyk by two strokes. Furyk had an eight under 271 total. Henrik Stenson finished third at seven under 273.
