University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong had a press conference today announcing former Auburn running back Michael Dyer would join the team. According to the Courier Journal, Strong said we've all been given second chances in life and that's why he is taking one on Dyer.
Dyer--who was the MVP of the 2011 BCS National Championship game while at Auburn--was dismissed from the team later that year for violating team rules. He then transferred to Arkansas State and never played a down after a traffic stop unveiled possession of marijuana and a gun.
Strong said Dyer would have to sign a behavior contract and there would be "zero tolerance" of violating the team's five core values, which include no drugs and no weapons. Dyer arrived on campus Sunday and has to complete a physical before joining the team for practice, which begins tomorrow.
