The National Weather Service says a tornado touched down in Todd County during Sunday night’s severe weather.
A survey team was in the northern part of the county yesterday and determined an EF0 tornado touched down two miles southwest of Clifty and went back into the clouds about a half mile northeast of Clifty.
The tornado had peak winds of 80 miles per hour and was about 150 yards wide. The survey team says several trees were downed, a camper trailer destroyed, shingles were blown off houses and a roof was blown off a business.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the tornado, which touched down just before midnight.
Hopkinsville Police are investigating a case of alleged sodomy against an eight year old.
The report says the incident happened in the city sometime between December 20th and January 14th, with the mother of the girl telling officers her daughter was forced to perform a sex act on a male juvenile family member.
The suspect is listed on the report, though no arrests have been made.
Two young men were arrested for allegedly trespassing on the campus of Trigg County High School yesterday morning.
Cadiz Police say two men were observed inside the school just after 11:30, having not signed in. When an administrator attempted to confront them, the pair allegedly ran to their vehicle in the middle school parking lot.
School Resource Officer Dave Colbert was able to stop the vehicle, with 20-year old Joshua Livingston of Happy Hollow Road and 19-year old Zachary Neel unable to give a legitimate reason for being on campus.
Police say a search of Livingston revealed a pipe commonly used to smoke drugs in his pants pocket and that Neel could not provide proof of insurance on his vehicle and that he wasn’t properly displaying his license plate.
Both men were charged with 1st degree Criminal Trespass.
Few details are given, but Hopkinsville Police responded to a robbery on Howell Street last night.
The incident happened around 6pm on Howell, where 59-year old Robert Taylor of Hopkinsville said he was struck several times by unknown suspects, who took his wallet.
No suspects are listed on the report.
