Four people were injured and several homes were destroyed when a tornado touched down near Adairville in Logan County without warning Monday afternoon.
The first reports of a touchdown came in around 2 p.m. near the southeast Logan County community and Kentucky State Trooper Jonathan Biven says the four injuries appeared to be minor in nature.
Several vehicles and structures were damaged near Robey Farms and a home and barn were heavily damaged on Conn Road. Trooper Biven says a total of five homes sustained damage in the twister.
A tornado warning would be issued for south central Logan County, but not until after the damage had been done near Adairville. Several roadways were closed as power crews tried to restore service and debris was removed from the pavement. A National Weather Service survey team was on the ground yesterday and determined the twister was at least an EF2 with winds of 135 mph. More survey work will be done today.
