The ambulance service for Todd County will be soon be privately contracted after action by Todd Fiscal Court this morning.
Comm-Care was the only agency to bid on the contract and will be paid $13,500 monthly by Todd Fiscal Court for the duration of a 10 month initial contract. Several employees of the ambulance service and current EMS Director Locky Beasley were in attendance, but did not speak.
Comm-Care currently provides ambulance service to Logan County, which borders Todd to the east. Fiscal Court Magistrate Brent Spurlin was on a committee that was tasked to look at options and said the company’s ability to recruit local employees in Logan County was one of Comm-Care’s strong points.
