The Todd County School System employee accused of inappropriate conduct with a student has been terminated from his position.
A news release from Superintendent Wayne Benningfield says Todd County Schools Maintenance Director Darrin Cole was fired Wednesday.
Benningfield says allegations were made that Cole engaged in inappropriate conduct toward a student on March 28 while a bus driver and chaperone for a Student Technology Leadership Program Conference in Lexington.
After initial allegations were made, Cole was suspended without pay pending an investigation. Todd County Schools Assistant Superintendent Mike Taylor conducted an investigation on behalf of the District. Taylor furnished the results of his investigation to Superintendent Benningfield.
On Wednesday, Benningfield met with Cole; informed Cole of the results of Taylor's investigation; and, gave Cole an opportunity to explain the events.
The release says at the conclusion of that meeting, Cole's employment with the Todd County Schools was terminated.
