No one was injured, but a Todd County man was arrested following a two vehicle wreck on U.S. 68-80 Thursday afternoon.
Local police had been told to be on the lookout for a gray sedan leaving Dairy Queen shortly before the incident happened, as a witness believed the driver to be intoxicated. Elkton Police Chief Jerry Pepper said he was in the area and headed that way and soon got the call there had been a wreck at the intersection of Jefferson Davis Highway and the 68 Bypass on the west side of town.
Chief Pepper says witness accounts indicate 32-year old Demetrius Tyler of Guthrie ran the stop sign and drove into the path of westbound vehicle driven by Makayla Peterson of Lewisburg. The t-bone collision sent Tyler’s severely damaged car off the road and down an embankment.
Almost miraculously, no one was injured, but Tyler was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. He was lodged in the Todd County Jail.
