The murder trial for 21-year old Garrett Dye will not be held in Elkton after action in Todd Circuit Court this morning.
The Todd County Standard reported on its Facebook page that Judge Tyler Gill granted a motion to move Dye's trial to Logan Circuit Court due to a potentially tainted local jury pool.
Dye is accused of killing his nine-year old adopted sister, Amy Dye, near their Dogwood Road home near Trenton on the evening of February 4, 2011.
Garrett Dye eventually pled guilty as part of a deal that allowed him to maintain his right to appeal, based on a defense assertion that his confession to Kentucky State Police was coerced. The Kentucky Supreme Court agreed with the argument and overturned his conviction last year.
