Over 100,000 Kentuckians have signed up for health insurance associated with the Affordable Care Act through the KYNECT website and over 270 of those people are Todd County residents.
Statistics released by the state say 1,041 Christian County residents enrolled for coverage on the site since it opened. Officials say 243 of those new enrollments were by customers between the ages of 55 and 64, 219 were between the ages of 45 and 54 and 182 between the ages of 35 and 44.
Elsewhere in the southern Pennyrile, 272 Todd County residents have enrolled through the KYNECT website. The 45 to 54 age group is the largest demographic there, as 68 customers in that range have enrolled. Sixty-one customers between the ages of 55 and 64 have signed up.
A total of 296 Trigg Countians have enrolled, including 84 customers in the 55 to 64 age group. Sixty-one residents in the 45-54 age group have enrolled.
The Office of Governor Steve Beshear says 100,096 Kentuckians are now enrolled in new health coverage through the KYNECT site, including Medicaid and private insurance – an 18.5 percent increase over last week.
