The Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville has a new commander and he's a 101st Airborne Division veteran who's very experienced in police work.
A news release says Captain Bobby D. Murray was named the new commander. Captain Murray is a 14-year veteran of the KSP and has been previously assigned to Mayfield, Madisonville, and Frankfort posts, and Drug Enforcement Special Investigations West Branch.
He has served as the commander of the Driver’s Testing Branch, Post 8 Morehead, and most recently Post 3 Bowling Green.
Captain Murray is a seven-year veteran of the United States Army where he served with both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. He resides in Madisonville with his wife, Robin, and two daughters, Haleigh and Shelby.
He says he's honored to be and looks forward to serving as the Madisonville Post Commander. He says the pride and professionalism of the men and women who serve the Post 2 area is second to none.
The Madisonville Post serves Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster counties.
