Sixteenth District State Representative Martha Jane King of Lewisburg has filed her papers to run for re-election.
The Democrat was first elected to represent Todd and Logan counties in 2008 and defeated Republican challenger Chris Hightower in the 2012 election by about 1,300 votes. She will also be running in a very small portion of Warren County next year after legislative redistricting done this Summer.
Representative King recently spoke about her years in office at a ceremony where Todd County received a $1.5 million federal grant to help build the Todd Career Path Institute tech center and said being a part of that project is among the most important things she's dealt with in five years.
Representative King also works as a transportation agent at Logan Aluminum in Russellville.
