The pedestrian seriously injured in an accident on Russellville Road Saturday night remains in Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A hospital spokesperson says 63-year old Roberta Jackson of Hopkinsville is in critical, but stable condition.
As previously reported, the Hopkinsville Police report says 22-year old Mercedes Christian of Elkton was eastbound on Russellville Road near Western Hills Golf Course around 6:20 p.m., when Ms. Jackson attempted to cross on foot and walked directly into her vehicle's path.
Ms. Christian slammed her brakes, but could not stop, striking Ms. Jackson and knocking her to the pavement.
Traveling about two car lengths behind the incident, 51-year old Richard Combs of Pembroke was unable to stop his pickup and rear-ended Ms. Christian's sedan. The drivers of both vehicles went uninjured.
