The Tennessee Valley Authority has enacted a 1.5 percent increase to wholesale electricity costs this month, but there is a silver lining to the cloud.
Brent Gilkey of Pennyrile says lower fuel costs for TVA will mean customers won't feel the sting of higher wholesale costs.
In fact, Gilkey says fuel costs are so much lower this year that the average bill will likely be a little lower this month than last and lower than October of 2012.
The weather and how much electricity a cooperative member uses this month will, of course, ultimately determine whether the bill goes up or down. Pennyrile Presidnet Eston Glover says they will continue to work with members to ensure they have the information and assistance they need to use energy wisely.
