A Clarksville Sears employee has been arrested for allegedly using another cashier’s employee identification to steal nearly a thousand dollars worth of gift cards.
The report from Clarksville Police says 20-year old Shanise Phillips of Southwood Drive, Clarksville allegedly rang up four separate gift cards totaling $942 using the other employees PIN number and did not pay.
Police say Ms. Phillips would eventually admit to the crimes and was arrested and charged with Embezzlement.
A former Crime Stoppers Fugitive of the Week was arrested along with her boyfriend at a South Elm Street residence Thursday morning.
A tip from the public led Hokpinsville Police to 138 South Elm around 9:30, where 44-year old Dennis West of Hopkinsville reportedly came to the door. Officers asked West if 21-year old Jasmen Quarles was there and he said she was not.
Police reportedly warned West against lying and hindering their investigation, but he refused to let them in until they began to pursue a search warrant.
Officers allegedly found Quarles hiding in a closet and arrested her on outstanding warrants. They also arrested West and charged him with hindering police.
An alleged purse-snatcher was able to get away from a West 7th Street business last night, despite being chased by the victim’s husband, a witness and police.
The incident happened around 7:45 at Arby’s, where a black male in his early to mid 20’s reportedly approached 63-year old Sandy Mattingly of Hopkinsville from behind as she got a newspaper out of the vending machine.
The suspect took Ms. Mattingingly’s purse and fled on foot, with her husband and the bystander pursuing.
Hopkinsville Police Officer Jack Lingenfelter just happened to be in the area in his cruiser and nearly wrecked when the suspect ran into traffic, causing vehicles to come to an abrupt stop.
Officer Lingenfelter got out of his vehicle and pursued on foot, but the suspect got away with cash, identification, keys and other items.
A Todd County man was arrested last night on child pornography charges.
The report from State Police says 32-year old Sean Collins of Trenton was arrested and charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Distribution of Child Pornography around 8pm.
Troopers obtained a search warrant on Collins’ Seay Road home and reportedly found several items of child porn. It was Collins’ first offense and he was lodged in the Todd County Jail.
KSP was assisted by Todd County Sheriff Joey Johnson.
Hopkinsville Police have arrested a man they believe is responsible for a recent vehicle arson.
Arrested yesterday morning around 10:30 at 705 North Elm Street was 18-year old Jonathan Johnson of Hopkinsville.
Johnson is accused of using a plastic jug containing a flammable substance to set fire to a vehicle belonging to 35-year old Jervon Steele at 504 Millbrooke Drive in the early morning hours of November 5th.
The warrant says Johnson was seen running from the scene and that he lost a blue cap while fleeing. Johnson would later be seen watching the fire while fire-fighters put it out.
Johnson was lodged in the Christian County Jail on $5,000 bond and charged with third degree arson.
