A Christian County man was arrested by Kentucky State Police Thursday afternoon on child porn charges.
A news release says a search warrant was executed at the Cansler Road residence of 46-year old Robert Myers around 4:20pm, with police allegedly finding 567 images of child porn.
Myers was charged with possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. KSP says the investigation into the online sharing of the child porn images is continuing.
One person was killed in a vehicle versus tree wreck in Logan County this afternoon.
The incident happened around 2:45pm on KY 431 just north of Diamond Springs Road. There were two people in the vehicle that struck a tree, with the injury status of the other person not immediately known.
We’ll have more information on this tragic incident as it becomes available. The Logan County Sheriff’s Office was on the scene in addition to EMS and Rescue personnel.
A Hopkins County woman is accused of severely injuring her elderly mother.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office today arrested and charged 49-year old Debra L. Browning of 919 Leroy Road of Hanson, Kentucky with 1st degree criminal abuse and 2nd degree assault.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the Emergency Room at Regional Medical Center in reference to an alleged assault of an elderly female.
The two responding deputies determined 77-year old Mary Pittenger was assaulted by her daughter and caregiver.
Browning remains lodged in the Hopkins County Jail, while her elderly mother was flown to Saint Mary’s Hospital for further treatment due to the nature of her injuries.
Clarksville Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway teen.
Police say on Thursday, June 16th, 17-year old Crystal Leann Gilliland left her 450 Appleton Drive residence to stay with a friend in Clarksville.
Gilliland is described as a 5 foot 3, white female, with brown hair and green eyes.
According to the teen’s family, since she left, she has called several times from a Nashville number saying she is visiting a friend, named Teddy Shaw at Vanderbilt Hospital.
Police say Gilliland has refused to come home, despite hearing pleas from her parents to return and has quit communicating with the family and her location is unknown.
Police say Gilliland may use different alias such Taylor, Deretz and Shaw and will give out false birth dates to further conceal her identity.

Hundreds of arrests were made during a two-day multi-state law enforcement campaign recently.
Kentucky State Police teamed up with Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the Indiana State Police on major interstates last week as part of an ongoing effort to combat impaired driving.
As a result of the two-day campaign, over 500 DUI arrests were made, with KSP making 92 of those arrests by conducting checkpoints and saturation patrols on major highways.
KSP Spokesperson Captain David Jude was quoted as saying that driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs is a deadly crime and with the recent increase in fatal wrecks in the Commonwealth, State Police will be taking every opportunity to remove dangerous drivers from state roadways.
