The Pennyrile Regional Citizens Corps Council will be holding a two-day training session next week for people interested in becoming members of the newly formed Community Emergency Response Team in Hopkins County.
A news release says participants will learn how to identify and anticipate hazards, reduce fire hazards in the home and workplace, extinguish small fires, assist emergency responders, conduct light search and rescue missions, set up medical treatment areas and apply basic medical techniques.
The Citizens Corps Council is looking for peoples from all walks of life to participate. The training will begin 6 p.m. Friday, July 19 at the Hopkins County Emergency Management building on North Franklin Street in Madisonville.
