A fund has been set up at local BB&T banks for the Pembroke family affected by a house fire last week.
An East Nashville Street home belonging to Mary Higgins burned to the ground Friday evening. Ms. Higgins is reportedly undergoing rehab at the nursing home in Pembroke and her son was not at home at the time of the blaze.
State Representative Myron Dossett lives a few houses down from the Higgins' and is encouraging anyone who can to make a cash donation at BB&T to the Higgins fund.
Representative Dossett says if you don't want to drop a check off at the bank, you can mail it to him at 491 East Nashville Street, Pembroke, and he'll see that it gets to the right place.
No one was injured in the fire and the cause of the fire has not been determined.
