Preliminary statistics released by Kentucky State Police indicate that 10 people died in seven separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, July 1st through Sunday.
State Police say a triple-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in Perry County and a double-fatality motor vehicle crash occurred in Mason County.
Police say a single-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in Barren, Green, Jefferson, Pulaski and Warren Counties with the victims in Barren, Green and Jefferson Counties not wearing seat belts and the crash in Barren County involved the suspected use of alcohol.
State Police say five of the fatal wrecks occurred in four motor vehicle crashes during the Fourth of July holiday period.
Through Sunday, the preliminary figures indicate that 323 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2013, which is 74 less than what was reported for this time period last year.
