Kentucky State Police continue to investigate a shooting that took place Sunday night in Fulton County.
Around 11:20 p.m. state police received a 911 call of shots being fired in an apartment at the Royal Ridge Apartment Complex in Fulton County.
A State Trooper arrived on the scene shortly after the call was made and assisted Fulton City and South Fulton City Police Officers on the scene where a subject barricaded himself inside his apartment and refused verbal commands to come outside.
State Police say after a brief stand off with police, the man, identified as 56-year old Keith Dildine of Fulton left his apartment and fired shots at officers and that’s when officers returned fire striking him.
Police say after being shot, Dildine went back inside his residence before exiting again without further incident.
Police say Dildine was flown to a Memphis hospital, where he remains in critical condition and is facing two counts of Criminal Attempt of Murder on a Police Officer.
